Adi Salant

Co-Artistic Director

Adi Salant started dancing at the age of 6 at the Bat-Dor School of Dance, where she studied for 12 years. After her graduation from the dance division of the Alon High School of Art , Adi joined Batsheva Ensemble for two years. She was then invited to join Batsheva Dance Company, where she danced for five years. When Adi left the company in 2001, she became Ohad Naharin's assistant and staged his work for leading dance companies around the world until 2009.
Adi moved to Denmark to join her partner in 2004, and she launched her own teaching and choreography career by winning Dansolution, a choreography competition in Copenhagen, Denmark. In the following years, she was commissioned to create for various theaters and companies in Denmark, and she was invited to present her choreography in festivals throughout the U.S., Europe, and Israel.
In September 2009 rejoined Batsheva Dance Company as Associate Artistic Director and in January 2013 was appointed Co-Artistic Director.

Yaniv Nagar

Company Manager

Yaniv Nagar was born in Tel Aviv in 1971. He began his dance studies at the Beit Danny Community Centre, under the direction of Batya and Ofra Hanoon. He graduated the Talma Yalin High School and between 1987-1992 studied at the Bat Dor School of Dance, under the direction of Janet Ordman and Roz Sobol.
Yaniv won recognition as an excelling dancer within the frame of the IDF, and was the recipient of a scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation.
Between 1992-1996 he was a dancer with the Ballet de Monte Carlo, under the direction of Jean-Christophe Maillot. He joined the Batsheva Dance Company as a dancer in 1996 until 2002. Since 2002 Yaniv is Batsheva Dance Company's Company Manager. In 2007 he received the Yair Shapira Award for his contribution to dance in Israel.

Luc Jacobs

Senior Rehearsal Director

Luc Jacobs was born in Belgium in 1968. He started dancing at the age of 10. Among others, Luc danced with the Royal Ballet of Flanders in Belgium, Deutsche Opern Berlin and Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo.
In 2002 Luc joined the Norwegian Carte Blanche and later that year – Batsheva Dance Company.
In 2005 he served as assistant to Stijn Celis, artistic director of the Stadtheater in Bern, Switzerland, and throughout the years created many choreographic works.
As of 2005 Luc is rehearsal director and ballet teacher with the Batsheva Dance Company. In 2010 he became Batsheva Dance Company's Senior Rehearsal Director.

Claire Bayliss Nagar

Co-Director, Rehearsal Director, Batsheva Ensemble

Claire Bayliss Nagar was born in Birmingham, England in 1962, and she trained from the age of eleven at both the lower and upper schools of The Royal Ballet School in London until 1981. She performed with the National Ballet of Portugal in Lisbon, the Michael Clark Company in London, London’s Ballet Imperiale, Balletto di Roma, Balleto del Sole, Compagnia Teatro Koros, and Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, where she danced for seven years. Claire danced and worked with many choreographers including Jean-Christophe Maillot, Nacho Duato, Renato Zanella, John Neumeier, Uwe Schulz, John Alleyne, and William Forsythe, and she performed in many ballets by George Balanchine and Michel Fokine.
Claire joined Batsheva Dance Company in 2000 as Rehearsal Director and has been Co-Director and Rehearsal Director of Batsheva Ensemble since 2002.

Hillel Kogan

Rehearsal Director, Batsheva Ensemble

Hillel Kogan was born in Tel Aviv in 1974. He studied at the Bat-Dor School of Dance and at the Merce Cunningham Studio in New York. Hillel was a member of Batsheva Ensemble from 1995-1996, and he also danced with Nomades Dance Company in Switzerland and the Gulbenkian Ballet in Portugal. Since 1996, he has created15 dances for various companies and festivals in Israel and abroad. Hillel is an active member of the contemporary dance scene in Israel as a performer, choreographer, teacher, and improvisation artist.
Hillel has served as Rehearsal Director of Batsheva Ensemble since 2005, and also manages Batsheva's educational activities with excelling young dancers. In 2010 he received the Yair Shapira Award for the advancement of dance in Israel.
