Claire was born in Birmingham, England in 1962, and she trained from the age of eleven at both the lower and upper schools of The Royal Ballet School in London until 1981. She performed with the National Ballet of Portugal in Lisbon, the Michael Clark Company in London, London’s Ballet Imperiale, Balletto di Roma, Balleto del Sole, Compagnia Teatro Koros, and Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, where she danced for seven years. Claire danced and worked with many choreographers including Jean-Christophe Maillot, Nacho Duato, Renato Zanella, John Neumeier, Uwe Schulz, John Alleyne, and William Forsythe, and she performed in many ballets by George Balanchine and Michel Fokine.
Claire joined Batsheva Dance Company in 2000 as Rehearsal Director and has been Co-Director and Rehearsal Director of Batsheva Ensemble since 2002.
