10 creators. 16 dancers. 48 hours.

A singular project which invites choreographers, dancers and other artists to a “creative blind date” in which they create original works for the stage in two speed-rounds of 24 hours.
The project begins with a raffle which determines the five ensembles that will work together. All the groups are asked to react to one shared “reference” ( a short video from which they will take inspiration, quote, or refer to). From that point they embark on a 24 hour creative process which will culminate in a live one-time show, showcasing the resulting five original works created.
At the end of the first show, we will hold another raffle in front of the audience, which will spark new combinations of artists, a new “reference” will be dealt, and we will immediately set on another round of creation, at the end of which five completely different works will be presented the next day.

The rehearsals will be streamed live and will allow the audience a rare peek into the studios and the creative processes.

The live stream will begin on 6.9 at 21:00 on Instagram – drdgdance and will stay available throughout the days of the project.

Before each show, Ascaf Avraham, house photographer of Batsheva Dance Company, will present an exhibition of what his lens caught during the past day.

Project 48 Dance is presented as part of “Batsheva Hosts” and in collaboration with the Dance Department at the Seminar College.

Batsheva Hosts, under the artistic direction of Lior Avizoor and Hillel Kogan, is a platform showcasing works by independent Israeli artists from the fields of dance and performance.
